ATTENTION
**Please allow an extra 15 minutes to find parking and make your way to our office.
Due to the construction of a new parking garage, the parking is even more limited than in
previous months. Our strongest recommendation is to look for parking on the lowest
level, LL2 or to proceed to the very top of the structure L6.
Our office is located on the grounds of Scripps Memorial Hospital, just across Interstate 5 from
Scripps clinic, a distance of 1.5 miles.
From Scripps Clinic(Torrey Pines or Anderson Outpatient Clinic):
You will exit either the Scripps Clinic Anderson Outpatient Care Center or Scripps Green
Hospital and travel south on Torrey Pines Road towards Interstate 5 and central San Diego.
Within approximately 0.2 miles, the road will begin to curve gradually to the left and you want to
stay the left at this point. The road will change names to Genesee Avenue as Torrey Pines Road
exits off to the right at this intersection. You continue on Genesee Avenue down a hill until you
cross the overpass over Interstate 5 and start to rise on the other side***. From this point you will
travel east approximately 0.3 miles on a road that continuously ascends a hill and bends to the
right. You will see a small blue sign that says Hospital, and another blue sign that says Hospital
followed by a traffic light with a large blue hospital sign that says Scripps. You turn right at this
traffic light and you are on the grounds of Scripps Memorial Hospital.
You should avoid getting caught in the extreme right lane coming down Genesee Avenue.
From the North:
Take I-5 through northern San Diego County. Just south of Carmel Valley drive the freeway
splits into 2 major freeways, Interstate 5 and Interstate 805. Remain in the right hand lanes and
stay on Interstate 5. The highway will now ascend a long hill to your exit, which is Genesee
Avenue. Exit from the freeway and turn left on Genesee Avenue crossing the overpass over
Interstate 5. From this point you will travel east approximately 0.3 miles on a road that
continuously ascends a hill and bends to the right***. You will see a small blue sign that says
Hospital, and another blue sign that says Hospital followed by a traffic light with a large blue
hospital sign that says Scripps. You turn right at this traffic light and you are on the grounds
Scripps Memorial Hospital.
From the South via Interstate 5:
Travel north on the Interstate 5 past the Highway 52 interchange, past the La Jolla Village Drive
exit, until you arrive at the Genesee Avenue exit. Exit to your right and head east on Genesee
Avenue. From this point you will travel east approximately 0.3 miles on a road that continuously
ascends a hill and bends to the right. You will see a small blue sign that says Hospital, and
another blue sign that says Hospital followed by a traffic light with a large blue hospital sign that
says Scripps. You turn right at this traffic light and you are on the grounds of Scripps Memorial Hospital.
From the South or East on Genesee Avenue:
Genesee Avenue is a long road that runs diagonally through many districts of San Diego. You can
come north on Genesee Avenue at any point and follow it through its crossing at La Jolla Village
Drive in La Jolla. From this point you will have 1 mile and 6 traffic lights until you get to the
Scripps Memorial Hospital traffic light where you will make a left turn onto the Scripps
Memorial Hospital campus. The traffic light immediately prior to Scripps Memorial is called
Campus Point Drive. Blue “Hospital” sign will warn you that your turn is coming.
From the Scripps Memorial traffic light to the office:
Enter through the parking ticket booths. Take a parking ticket (which we will validate).
Continue straight to the second stop sign. Take a right at this second stop sign. You will
see the Ximed building and parking garage on your left. Our building, 9834, is on your
right, next to the Gamma Knife Center.
To park in the Ximed garage, follow the signs and make a left behind the garage. Take
another left to enter the garage. The parking structure has tight turns and should be
driven carefully. The structure is not laid out for perfect ease of parking and it is
sometimes difficult to negotiate a particular spot. Nevertheless, with 6 levels of parking,
there is always ample parking on some level and the higher you choose to go the easier it
will be to find and enter a spot. There is always parking on the roof level. There is
handicapped parking on every level.
Take the elevator down to P1. You will emerge in the circular drive of the Ximed
building. Go to your left, through the doors to the Imaging and Surgery Center, and out
to the street. You will be looking toward Scripps Memorial Hospital. Take another left
up the street, and you will again see the HM Poole building on your right, next to the
Gamma Knife Center.
Poole Building
Take the stairs up to the main doors. If you need ramp access, keep going up the
sidewalk and make a right behind the HM Poole building. When you enter the building,
you will be on the 2nd floor. Take the elevator up to the 4th floor. Turn left out of the
elevators to Suite 411.
